Learning the piano from an Internet resource, such as a down-loadable course or a membership site is a great way for beginners to learn piano. But although it's fun at first, you should be aware that there will be times when your motivation begins to wane a bit. This is quite normal and most piano learners experience this sort of thing.

Learning how to play the piano is a challenge for anyone. Not only is there much to learn in your brain such as musical notation, but there are physical things too, such as developing a sense of rhythm and finger movements. You need to develop dexterity in your fingers that you probably didn't have before.

It's also quite likely that you'll find some things are easier to master than others and you might well come to a point where you feel a bit unmotivated if there's something particularly difficult..

The way round this is to shift your perspective slightly and move on to something else for a while. You might also find that if you switch tasks for a while, what you learn in the new one will be beneficial in the other one too. You will need to practice a lot, it's through piano practice that the dexterity and understanding come. On the other hand, it is also quite possible that a short break from playing might be beneficial - remember that learning piano is meant to be a fun and fulfilling exercise, not something that becomes a chore - if it ever does, then take a break. It's nothing to worry about and you will discover that when you start again you'll be more motivated to have another go at the thing that's been troubling you.

But you have to keep up the piano practice, there's no getting away from it. Divide your practice sessions up into several short ones rather than one long one. About a quarter of an hour a couple or perhaps three times per day is what you should be aiming for. If you can maintain a regime like this for a couple of months you'll probably surprise yourself with the improvement in your playing.
